This is where I introduce you to Short Cycle Church Planting.
The funny story behind this:
[Context: Summer 2008, engaged roughly 8 weeks]
Josh came home from his summer internship at Avant and announced that we were going to do "Short Cycle Church Planting" which was basically planting a church in five years. He was very excited. My response though was probably not what he was expecting and / or hoping for. "That's dumb. That's not going to work." And that was pretty much all I said. Discussion over for the next five months.
A year later...
I had actually been a paid employee of Avant for about six weeks when I finally was convinced. Seriously, it took that long. But it was a light bulb. And God was obviously saying - this is what missions looks like in the 21st century. Go.
